Sanford PROMISE Scholars Opportunity
The PROMISE Scholars Program is a unique 10 week research internship which offers a total-immersion experience in real-time laboratory research for motivated high school students with an aptitude for biomedical sciences. Students work alongside scientists as part of the research team, connect with peers through in-house scientific interest groups, and present their work as a scientific poster at the Sanford Research Symposium. Scholars earn three undergraduate elective credits at the University of South Dakota and are awarded a $2500 scholarship.
2021 Program Eligibility:

2021 Program Eligibility:
- Strong interest in a scientific career.
- Entering senior year in the fall of the upcoming academic year (home-schooled students are eligible if planned graduation is in 2022).
- Must be at least 16 years old by June 1st.
- Committed to participating in the entire summer internship, with the exception of five discretionary days, for a minimum of 35 hours/week. Summer 2021 Dates: June 7th-August 13th, 2021.
- Candidates must be committed to participating in the 2021 Sanford Research Summer Symposium on Friday, August 13th, 2021.
