Sioux Falls Women Run Scholarship
​
Sioux Falls Women Run (SFWR) is Sioux Falls’ first women’s-only training team. SFWR will award college scholarships to female Sioux Falls seniors that will graduate in May or June of 2026 who have demonstrated a love for running and a commitment to the sport of running and the running community. Criteria for SFWR’s awarding of the scholarships are:
  • Expected graduation in May or June from Sioux Falls metro area  high schools.
  • Strong academic performance (GPA>3.5).
  • Current good standing on her school’s track or cross country team or community running club involvement.
  • Evidence of past commitment to running and commitment to future running involvement.
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and/or community service.
  • Expected to enroll as a full-time 2 or 4-year college or university student in the fall.
 The deadline for the  application: May 1, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.-Only completed applications will be considered. Do not leave items blank. Apply at SF Women Run website.
  • Attach a current copy of your high school transcripts.
  • Two signed letters of recommendation must be sent with this application. One letter of recommendation must be from a high school track or cross country coach or mentor who can attest to your commitment to running. The second letter of recommendation may be from a teacher, counselor, boss, etc. Letters of recommendation from family members will not be accepted.
  • Consideration for any scholarship award is based on a point system including GPA, participation in extra-curricular activities, school organizations and community service. This will be a one-time award.

​NextGrad Warrior Success Scholarship
This nonrenewable $1000 scholarship is only available to 2026 WHS graduates who have experienced a challenge, setback or failure.  
Criteria:
*Must have overcome obstacles. 
*Must plan to continue education at an accredited post-secondary school. 
Requirements:
*Completed application form turned into the counseling office by May 8, 2026.  You can complete this form or attach typed information.
*Letter of recommendation.   
Paper applications available in the WHS Counseling Office.
Award: $1000

Bryan Cameron Scholarship - Class of 2027
The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition, impact-driven undergraduate scholarship awarded annually to 15 exceptional high school students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, and academics. The Cameron Impact Scholar is unique among their peers in their desire to directly impact  their communities and in the world at large. Our Scholar aspires to contribute to positive forces for change and plans to tailor their education to that end. The Cameron Impact Scholarship covers the full tuition, fees, and books at any accredited U.S. based college or university that the recipient chooses to attend.
As a merit-based program, the Cameron Impact Scholarship is open to all applicants who meet the GPA and citizenship requirements, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation or any other background factors. We are looking for young leaders with demonstrated passion and commitment to any variety of positive impact.

PEO Star Scholarship
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a highly competitive one-time $2,500 scholarship recognizing women in their final year of high school who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community service and who plan to pursue full- or part-time postsecondary education in the U.S. or Canada beginning in the fall following their high school graduation. This document outlines official procedures and general application  information.

Alert Magazine Scholarship
All high school seniors may enter the Alert scholarship essay contest.  Alert Magazine will award one $500 scholarship to the winning essay in the state or region.
Requirements:
Write an essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with alcohol and/or drug abuse.  In your essay explain how the situation was dealt with, what did you learn from it, what others can learn from this experience, and in your opinion what was right or wrong with how the problem was handled.  Scholarship are judged on thesis statement, supporting content, grammar, and punctuation.
Essays must be typed, double spaced and 650-800 words in length.  Must include HS transcript and a recent photo.
