Blanche Irene Doolittle Scholarship Trust
Based on the "whole student".  Based on GPA, financial need, extra curricular activities, abilities and character.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

Tim Gjoraas Science & Education Scholarship
Tim Gjoraas was a beloved WHS science teacher for more than twenty years who passed away from cancer early in 2021. Throughout his life and career, Tim was passionate about educating and encouraging his students and would have wanted to leave behind a legacy of helping future scientists and educators.
This scholarship aims to support high school and undergraduate students in South Dakota who are pursuing careers in education or science.  Any high school or undergraduate student who is planning to study education or science and lives in South Dakota may apply for this scholarship.

First National Bank of Sioux Falls Scholarship
You do not need to be a customer of The First National Bank in Sioux Falls to apply. Each applicant must be a graduating area high school senior who plans to attend an accredited institution of higher learning (public or private) as a full-time student, and the scholarship is not renewable.

Sioux Empire Home Builders Building Trades Scholarship
Established to benefit high school graduates, The Home Builders Care Foundation Building Trades Scholarships ($1,000) are given annually to those majoring in a home building related field of study. Students must have applied for acceptance into a technical college or university and reside within Davison, Hanson, Aurora, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha or Turner counties. Forms are available in the Counseling Office.

Plains Commerce Bank Scholarship
This scholarship is based on student's activities, community involvement, character and financial need.  Open to any senior that is planning to attend a South Dakota college, university, or technical school on a full time basis.  GPA is not a primary consideration for this scholarship.  Applicants must be a customer of Plains Commerce Bank to be eligible. Application forms are available in the Counseling Office.

AGC of South Dakota Scholarship
AGC of South Dakota has scholarships available for students pursuing an education in a career field directly related to the construction industry. This application is for graduating seniors or those currently pursuing higher education. In 2024 we awarded scholarships to 37 students in amounts of $500-$5,500 with a total amount of over $84,000.

Dakota Alliance Soccer Jan VandenBos & Jean Bower Scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
In order to apply for the Jan VandenBos Competitive/Jean Bower Scholarship, you must:
1) have been a player in the Dakota Alliance Competitive Soccer Program for at least four (4) years and be a current U18 or
U19 player,
2) be a graduating senior with plans to continue your education (trade or certificate program, two-year college/technical
school or 4-year college or university)
3) have a Cumulative High School GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applications available in the WHS Counseling Office.
Award: $1000 per 1 boy, $1000 per 1 girl

NextGrad Scholarship
This nonrenewable $1000 scholarship is only available to 2025 WHS graduates who have experienced a challenge, setback or failure.  
Criteria:
*Must have overcome obstacles. 
*Must plan to continue education at an accredited post-secondary school. 
Application form available in the counseling office.  Recommendation form required.
