I began my counseling journey as an elementary counselor here in Sioux Falls. After 8 years, I am excited to make the jump up to high school as this is my 3rd year at WHS. I have always had a passion for helping young adults make decisions about their future and cannot wait to get to know the students here at Washington and join them on their journey through high school! I am here to assist students with their personal, academic, and career goals. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young kids. We are very excited to become part of the Washington family! Go Warriors!

BA, Psychology and Spanish – Augustana University
MS, School Counseling – South Dakota State University
After utilizing my Spanish speaking skills in a fulfilling career in the financial industry, I transitioned back to my first love of positively impacting youth and families. I will begin my 13th year in counseling, and I consider it a blessing to wake up each day knowing that I get to work in a field that is truly a calling. I feel privileged and humbled each day that students, staff, families, and community members invite me into their journeys. I am passionate about equipping students with positive academic, social, emotional, and future career skills. When I am not in my counseling position, I love my roles of being a wife to Jamie and mother to our two children Hailey and Riley. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to your student. I look forward to partnering with you.

BS, Education - St. Cloud State University
MA, School Counseling - Grand Canyon University
I am excited to enter my 20th year in education and my 2nd year as a school counselor! Prior to becoming a school counselor, I taught elementary and middle school levels in both Nevada and Arizona. I eventually moved into higher education where I worked with college of education students on academic advising and student teacher placements. After having my daughter, my husband and I decided it was time to move back to Sioux Falls to raise our family in the city we both grew up in and loved. I have been in the Sioux Falls School district for 9 years, spending most of my time working with our amazing diverse students and families who are multilingual learners. As a proud graduate of WHS myself, I look forward to joining the Warrior family and helping students find their success and meet their goals!

I enjoy working with the high school population to assist with post high school plans. I also like helping students talk through some tough situations they deal with in high school. Its fun seeing students get involved at WHS and I love watching Warrior activities.
